Dealing with the causes of infertility can both be a relief and a curse. It may not be what you have expected, and you may not know at all what to do with the information. Even in the world of advanced medicine, there may be medical explanations but not always solutions. So what was wrong with me? It turned out that my reproductive system was completely NORMAL and quite robust for a woman over 30. As the investigation turned to my husband, he was in for a shock of his life. Even the doctors were quite puzzled, that the samples he gave, time and time again, showed zero sperms.

Part 1: Is this normal?
"Pregnancy is a natural state of well-being," this midwife reassured me while busy flicking through, that seemed to be her manual, in search of the word "IVF." As the protocol for delivering IVF babies was being sought right in front of me, I wondered if it was at all possible to be treated just as a "normal" pregnant woman after being through an IVF treatment. It sure didn't feel like it right in that moment.
